Cookies and Cocktails Raises $63,000

Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) celebrated the 3rd annual Cookies and Cocktails at Franklin Plaza in Troy and raised more than $63,000 in support of the Young Women’s Leadership Initiative (YWLI), an innovative GSNENY program that educates young women about career and leadership development opportunities.

CEO Mary Buszuwski explained how the YWLI helps "girls with dreams become young women in vision." She introduced Alexia Hoden, a graduate of the YWLI, who shared her personal experience. “Advocacy, professionalism, leadership, networking, how to navigate social situations as not only a leader, but as a woman - are all things the initiative first taught be about,” she said. “This knowledge gave me a leg up in the professional world, hands down.”
