Mackenzie Earns Teen Excellence Award

Mackenzie Roberts of Troop 3131 in Bolton Lading is one of the 2018 Teen Excellence Award recipients. Sponsored by the Glens Falls Post-Star, the Teen Excellence Awards identify young people who demonstrate individual growth, leadership development, and serve as exceptional role models in their communities and beyond. Additionally, these individuals embody a significant level of innovation, leadership, and achievement that goes beyond academics and athletics.

Mackenzie was nominated by a committee of administrators, peers, and teachers from Bolton Central School. She was nominated for her work creating a domestic violence awareness campaign with her troop 3131. The troop is passionate about community service and for their Gold Award project, they created a PSA to spread the word about domestic violence. The campaign spread across the country.

Bolton Central School Principal Chad Shippee chose Senior Mackenzie Roberts to be nominated for the Award for her strong leadership, community and school involvement, and academic excellence. “She is a true role model for all of our PK-12 students,” Shippee said. And she's a true model for our Girl Scouts, too!
