Participate in the GSNENY Be Counted Census 2020 Patch Program! 

Every ten years, the United States Census Bureau , a nonpartisan government agency, sets out to count every person living in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U.S. territories. The 2020 Census is taking place Spring - Fall 2020, and has already begun! 

The 2020 Census is underway! Starting in March, residents began receiving instructions in the mail, and are encouraged to go online at any time to fill out their 2020 Census Form

An accurate census count is incredibly important. The United States government relies on census data to determine community funding, congressional representation, and so much more. 

To earn the patch: 
We’re calling on GSNENY Girl Scouts, troops, leaders, and volunteers to help spread the word about this year’s census. Not only will you be doing your part to ensure an accurate census count, you’ll also be practicing civic engagement. 

NOTE: Due to Girl Scouting activities shifting online, this are now a digital effort! 

1. Collect at least 15 Pledge Cards (per girl) from adults who say they will be counted by the census.
