Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Our financial assistance fund helps ensure everyone can join and take part fully — girls and adults alike.
About the application
Use the application to request Financial Assistance for girls and adults. Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) maintains funds to help ensure everyone can join and participate fully in Girl Scouts.
Applications are accepted year-round. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing. Complete every required field — incomplete applications will delay a decision.
Awards are based on the applicant's financial need and the availability of funds. Where financial disclosures are required, we use a rubric that considers income and family size. Additional factors may be considered, including participation in product sales programs that let members earn money toward Girl Scout programming. A committee reviews applications that don't meet the financial criteria but involve extenuating circumstances.
Please note: Financial assistance is for activities organized at the Council level. GSNENY is unable to provide assistance for troop or service unit-sponsored activities. Assistance is also not offered for adults acquiring a uniform or attending a youth program that requires adult registration.
Types of assistance
You can submit membership and other requests at the same time.
Families and volunteers are always asked to pay what they can, and we apply any valid Cookie Dough, S'mores Club, or Program Vouchers first.
Awards are limited to one summer camp session OR one instance of travel assistance per child, per membership year.
Troops and Service Units may also use their own funds to cover the cost of memberships, insignia, camp, programs, travel, and training.

How it works
1. Complete the form — Fill in every required field. Apply online, on paper, or with help from Customer Care by phone or in person.
2. We review — Please allow up to 10 business days. When required, we weigh disclosures against income and family size; a committee reviews special circumstances.
3. You hear back — You'll be offered full or partial funding based on need and available funds. Cookie credits and vouchers are applied first.
