Welcome to the Mariners Program! Girl Scout Mariners participate in water-based high adventure activities. Mariners develop skills in swimming, safety, rescue, kayaking, sailing, navigation, and more. They take action in oceans, lakes, and rivers, explore careers related to water, and learn to protect the aquatic environment. At Lake Clear Camp we will focus on sailing and learning the basics as outlined in the Mariners Guidebook. This week we will work on the beginning criteria for the Mariners program and then work on the Midship Mites section of the program and practice our knots. If you have completed the Shipmates’ Requirements, you will move to the next level of Jack Tar. Girls completing the Basic Criteria for the Mariners program will earn their Mariners Pin to wear loud and proud on the front of their vest or sash
