This summer, Saratoga Performing Arts Center is helping Junior Girl Scouts to earn their Musician Performance Badge! Meeting in the music studio at SPAC’s School of the Arts, we will explore various qualities of music making. The use of percussive instruments will help us to feel the importance of rhythm, while listening to examples of classical music and favorite pop songs will help us to recognize the elements of melody. The history and story behind one of the pieces and composer from the evening concert program will be presented before heading out to the 7:30pm concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the main amphitheater (or on the lawn, if preferred). During intermission, all Juniors who have completed their requirements will receive their Musician Performance Badge and certificate!
Class runs from 5:30pm-6:30pm, performance starts at 7:30pm
